JAMESTOWN, NY — A man was arrested Thursday evening following a domestic dispute on the city’s south side.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a residence at about 5:27 p.m. Feb. 6 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute in progress.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Ryan J. Freeman on his front porch, who told police he was confused about their presence.
Officers then made contact with a victim inside the residence.
Through their investigation, officers determined the victim had been punched in the face by Freeman.
Police also found that Freeman had scratched the victim, causing minor cuts.
The victim fled to a bathroom, barricaded themselves inside and called 911.
Freeman was placed into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident.
Freeman is charged with assault in the third degree and is being held pending arraignment.
