Man arrested on drug charges in Saratoga County

SARATOGA COUNTY, NY — A Troy man faces multiple felony drug charges following an investigation into narcotics sales in two counties.

Robert J. Moore, 46, of Troy, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

All four charges are class B felonies.

The arrest followed an investigation into illicit narcotics possession and sales in Saratoga and Rensselaer counties.

Moore is accused of knowingly and unlawfully selling a narcotic drug and of knowingly and unlawfully possessing a narcotic drug with intent to sell it on two occasions.

He was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in Malta Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further proceedings.

The charges filed are not considered qualifying offenses for the purpose of setting bail under New York state law.

The Troy Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
