COLEBROOK, NH — A Columbia man was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 26 on Dec. 29.
Lyford Parker, 59, of Columbia, was stopped by a Colebrook police officer at 8:51 p.m. after his red pickup truck crossed the centerline into the oncoming lane.
Parker told the officer he had purchased the vehicle and provided a signed title.
The registration plates still belonged to the previous owner, invalidating the registration because the vehicle had been sold.
Police discovered Parker’s operating privileges were suspended in New Hampshire.
Parker was arrested and charged with operating after suspension, subsequent offense; unregistered vehicle; and yellow/solid line violation.
The plates were seized and the vehicle was towed.
Parker was booked and later released on bail pending arraignment.
