GREECE, NY — A 48-year-old man was arrested after allegedly intentionally striking a woman with his vehicle following a road rage incident on Jan. 17.
The Greece Police Department responded to the area of 671 Maiden Lane at approximately 2:15 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Officers determined the incident resulted from an intentional act following a road rage encounter.
The investigation determined the victim was involved in a brief traffic-related dispute with the operator of a pickup truck while traveling northbound on Mt. Read Boulevard.
After the victim pulled into a nearby parking lot and exited her vehicle, the suspect threw an object at the victim from his vehicle.
The suspect then reversed his vehicle and intentionally struck the victim, causing her to land on the hood of the truck.
The suspect fled the scene following the incident.
Video evidence obtained during the investigation corroborated the victim’s account.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Shane Cossey, 48, of Greece, was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree and reckless endangerment in the first degree.
