Suspect sought in counterfeit bill case in Greece

GREECE, NY — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly used counterfeit bills at a discount retail store.

The incident occurred on Jan. 10, 2026, according to the Greece Police Department.

Police said the suspect exchanged counterfeit bills at the store located in town.

The suspect left the scene in a dark-colored SUV with an out-of-state license plate, police said.

Authorities have released a photo of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual.

The suspect is wanted on charges of forgery and petit larceny.
