PENN YAN, NY — A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday following a domestic disturbance investigation.
Jedediah C. Collette, of Penn Yan, was taken into custody after police say he unlawfully entered another resident’s apartment through a window in the middle of the night.
Police say the apartment’s occupant had told Collette to stay away prior to the incident.
A victim and a child under the age of 17 were present in the apartment at the time, according to police.
Officers responded to the scene and located Collette in the area.
Collette admitted to entering the apartment through the window, police said.
He was charged with criminal trespass in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Collette was transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment for the purpose of obtaining orders of protection.
