Man arrested on assault charge in Whitefield

WHITEFIELD, NH — A Lisbon man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a local restaurant last month.

Derek Bentley was taken into custody in the morning hours on Jan. 7 by Whitefield Police with the assistance of New Hampshire State Police and Littleton Police Department, after a lengthy investigation.

Bentley was charged with first degree assault with a deadly weapon.

The arrest stems from an incident on the evening of Dec. 5, 2025, when Whitefield Police officers were dispatched to Sunny and Jillian’s Pizza and Pub in King Square for a reported altercation between multiple subjects.

Initial reports were of a male suffering from a stab wound.

The stab wound was a result of the altercation.

The male subject suffering from the stab wound was later released from the hospital.

Bentley was transported to the Coos County House of Corrections pending arraignment.
