RAMAPO, NY — Police arrested a 26-year-old man after a cab driver reported being threatened with a handgun while picking up a fare on Rockland Lane.
The incident occurred when officers responded to a report from the cab driver last night.
The investigation revealed that during a verbal dispute, the suspect lifted his shirt to display a handgun, then removed the weapon and racked the slide, chambering a round, while the fare was waiting with a young child nearby.
Detectives identified the suspect through a photo array and responded to his residence with patrol officers.
Police took the man, of Hillcrest, into custody and recovered an un-serialized “ghost gun” and an ammunition feeding device.
The suspect was charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Menacing.
He was arraigned this morning and bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
