KINGSTON, NY — Police are investigating a hit and run crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured on Nov. 21.
The Kingston Police Department responded to the Boulevard near Stewarts at approximately 1:49 p.m. for a report of a hit and run personal injury automobile accident.
A 41-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street south of the crosswalk when they were struck by an SUV, according to police.
The SUV immediately left the area following the collision.
The victim was transported to HealthAlliance Hospital Hudson Valley Emergency Room by the Kingston Fire Department and subsequently transferred to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries.
The SUV and operator were located shortly after the collision.
The incident remains under investigation, and charges are anticipated to be filed against the operator of the SUV.
The Kingston Police Department was assisted by members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
