Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Strong winds and the weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause isolated power outages. Travel could be very difficult to impossible, with hazardous conditions expected to impact Monday morning and evening commutes.

Snowfall amounts will depend on elevation, with more snow expected across higher terrain. Road conditions may change rapidly, officials say.

The National Weather Service advises travelers to keep an extra flashlight, food and water in vehicles in case of emergency.

Residents should be prepared for slippery roads and use caution while driving. Stairs, sidewalks and driveways could be icy and slippery, increasing risk of falls and injury.
