ROCHESTER, NY — Three people were arrested after a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that began in Greece and ended in Rochester on Oct. 25.
Officers were alerted by the department’s License Plate Reader system to a stolen 2014 Jeep Compass traveling on West Ridge Road at approximately 7:08 p.m.
Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver failed to comply, initiating a pursuit that extended into the City of Rochester.
A Greece Police officer deployed spike strips, deflating the vehicle’s tires and bringing the chase to a controlled end on Dewey Avenue in Rochester.
With support from New York State Police Aviation and the Rochester Police Department K9 Unit, officers safely contained the vehicle.
After multiple attempts to have the suspects exit voluntarily, a device was deployed that shattered the driver’s window, prompting immediate compliance by all occupants.
All suspects were taken into custody without injury.
Joseph Clark, 47, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, reckless driving, obstructing governmental administration and numerous traffic violations.
Juanita Monahan, 56, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree.
Tania Sims, 33, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree.
The stolen vehicle had previously fled from law enforcement and is suspected of being involved in multiple larcenies and related crimes across Monroe County.
