Man arrested on drug charges in Kingston

KINGSTON, NY — A two-month narcotics investigation led to the arrest of a Kingston man and the discovery of a gunshot victim during a search warrant execution on Emerson Street.

Albert Miller, 23, of Kingston, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Oct. 21.

Miller was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 2nd degree, a class A felony, two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, both class B felonies, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, both class B felonies.

The search warrant was executed by members of the Kingston/Ulster Emergency Services Unit, the Kingston Police Department and the Town of Ulster Police.

Upon entering the residence, ESU team members located a male inside the home who had sustained a gunshot wound.

Members of the Kingston Fire Department, who were already on scene as part of the assigned emergency services unit, immediately rendered medical aid and transported the victim to HealthAlliance Hospital, Benedictine Campus.

The individual was later transferred to St. Francis Hospital for further treatment.

The Kingston Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.

Miller was held for arraignment.
