Man arrested on stolen vehicle, DWI charges in Greece

GREECE, NY — A Rochester man was arrested after a license plate reader detected a stolen vehicle traveling on West Ridge Road on Oct. 22.

Greece Police officers were alerted by the department’s License Plate Reader system at approximately 3:22 p.m. to a stolen black 2020 Honda HRV traveling eastbound on West Ridge Road.

The vehicle was stopped at West Ridge Road and Bernice Street.

The driver, identified as Abdul Aden, 20, of Rochester, was taken into custody without incident along with three passengers.

Officers administered field sobriety tests at the scene and determined that Aden was impaired by marijuana.

He was transported to Unity Hospital for a blood draw and later processed at Greece Police Headquarters.

Aden was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving while ability impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree.

The other occupants were interviewed and released after officers determined they were not involved in the theft of the vehicle.
