Middletown pedestrian struck by vehicle, hospitalized in critical condition

MIDDLETOWN — A 66-year-old man was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Main Street Extension on Sept. 29 and remains in critical condition at Hartford Hospital.

Paul Fachini was hit at approximately 6:34 a.m. near 139 Main Street Extension, according to a news release from the Middletown Police Department.

Fachini suffered a life-threatening head injury in the collision and was rushed to Hartford Hospital, police said.

The driver of the vehicle stopped after the collision and has been cooperating with police, according to Chief Erik Costa.

The driver’s name is not being released at this time.

The Middletown Police Traffic Division is investigating the collision.
