Malta woman arrested on felony family offense charge after traffic stop

MALTA — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Malta woman on felony charges following a traffic stop for an inadequate exhaust on Aug. 29.

Taylor A. Slater, 29, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at 2 a.m. on the Round Lake bypass in Malta.

Slater was charged with aggravated family offense, a class E felony, and criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

She is accused of committing a specified offense under the statute having been convicted of a specified offense within the immediately preceding five years.

Slater is also charged with violating the terms of an order of protection that forbade her from being in the protected person’s presence.

She was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in Malta Town Court and released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings.
