WILTON — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 30-year-old Amsterdam man on drunken driving charges following a single-vehicle crash Aug. 30.
Nicholas S. Valente was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, all unclassified misdemeanors.
He also faces infractions for moving from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable and prudent, and refusing to take a prescreen breath test at the request of a police officer.
Deputies responded to the crash at 1:19 a.m. on Louden Road in Wilton.
Valente is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.21%.
His vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, which damaged a utility pole.
Valente was released on appearance tickets pending further proceedings in Wilton Town Court.
