CATSKILL — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation announces the arrest of Kenneth W. Vlasaty, age 25, of Purling, following an investigation into allegations involving unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Vlasaty has been charged with seven counts of rape in the third degree, actor 21 or more-vaginal sexual contact with person less than 17 years old, a class E felony.
He also faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a child less than 17, a class A misdemeanor.
Vlasaty was additionally charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the first degree, a class A misdemeanor.
The initial investigation was conducted by the Town of Cairo Police Department before being turned over to the New York State Police for further investigation.
Vlasaty is accused of engaging in unlawful sexual conduct on multiple occasions with a 16-year-old victim.
Vlasaty was arraigned in the Town of Cairo Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail.
A full stay-away order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Cairo Court on Sept. 3 at 3 p.m.
