EVERETT — Police Chief Paul Strong reported that the Everett Police Special Criminal Investigations Unit applied for and were granted three search warrants and one arrest warrant by the Malden District Court on Thursday, Aug. 21.
The warrants were issued in conjunction with an ongoing investigation by SCIU detectives regarding drug distribution in the Greater Boston area and in the city of Everett.
After selling narcotics to an undercover officer, a subsequent investigation led to a search warrant for a residence in the city of Malden and the arrest of one individual.
Juan Francisco De Los Santos Alcantara, 44, was arrested and charged with various narcotics violations including distribution of a Class B substance and trafficking a Class B substance.
Various narcotic-related materials including bags, scales and a money counter were seized as evidence along with over $100,000 in U.S. currency.
Two small magnetic vehicle hides containing narcotics were also located in the vehicle.
The Malden Police Department provided assistance as well as K9 units from both the Medford and Peabody police departments.
