SARATOGA COUNTY — The Sheriff’s Office received a request to assist the Halfmoon animal control officer Tuesday at 1:05 p.m. regarding a complaint they had received.
An investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of Jonathan T. Dailey, 45, of Halfmoon, on a charge of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, a class A misdemeanor.
Dailey is accused of whipping a rottweiler in the face with a leash, stepping on its head and shoving the animal with his leg.
He was released on an appearance ticket pending further proceedings in Halfmoon Town Court.
The animal was seized by Halfmoon animal control under a court order and was evaluated at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
The investigation is ongoing.
