Whitney Point man arrested on grand larceny charge

WHITNEY POINT — New York State Police arrested a 35-year-old Whitney Point man July 10 on a felony grand larceny charge.

David R. Keener was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony.

Troopers began investigating in June after accusations that Keener used a victim’s business account at a local hardware store to make unauthorized purchases.

The investigation revealed Keener purchased more than $5,800 worth of tools without the victim’s permission during May and June.

Keener was processed at the Whitney Point state police barracks and turned over to Broome County Jail for centralized arraignment.
