Man arrested on domestic assault charges in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 9:16 p.m. July 7.

Sydney Walden, 61, of Marshfield, unlawfully restrained multiple household members and interfered with their ability to contact emergency services, police said.

Walden caused serious bodily harm to the victims, according to police.

Walden resisted arrest and assaulted a law enforcement officer during the arrest, police said.

Walden was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing and later to Northeast Correctional Complex, where he was held without bail.

Walden was issued a citation to appear in court July 8 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, second-degree aggravated domestic assault, resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer, interference with access to emergency services and second-degree unlawful restraint.
