WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police arrested a 20-year-old man early Friday after two people reported being struck with brass knuckles outside a convenience store.

Jonathan Bryce Bilwin was taken into custody at 12:57 a.m. at the Wawa in Union Center.

Police said Bilwin initiated a confrontation after challenging others to fight outside the establishment.

Several individuals attempted to de-escalate the situation before the altercation became physical but were unsuccessful, according to police.

Bilwin was found to be intoxicated and was transported to Wilkes-Barre Township Police headquarters for processing.

During processing, Bilwin became uncooperative and resisted arrest, struggling with police, authorities said.

He was taken to county jail.
