Juvenile arrested in armed robbery of lemonade stand in South Boston

BOSTON, MA — A 14-year-old juvenile male was arrested June 12 in connection with the armed robbery of a children’s lemonade stand in South Boston.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to wit; Armed Robbery (two counts) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (two counts).

Police are actively working to identify a second individual involved in the incident.

At approximately 4:44 p.m. on June 10, officers from District C-6 responded to a radio call reporting an armed robbery in the area of West Ninth Street.

Officers spoke to the victims, two children who had been operating a lemonade stand at the location.

The victims stated that the unknown suspects made several passes by the stand before approaching and asking whether Apple Pay would be accepted as payment.

Before the victims could respond, the suspects grabbed a box containing U.S. currency.

One suspect then displayed a black firearm in his waistband before both individuals fled the area.
