VERNON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a man on domestic assault charges following an incident on Pond Road on July 2, 2026.
Joshua J. Gay, 32, of Vernon, was taken into custody at approximately 9:55 a.m. after troopers responded to a residence for a report of an assault.
Police said Gay caused physical pain to a family or household member.
The incident took place in the presence of minors, according to police.
Gay was transported to the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks for processing.
He was held at Southern State Correctional Facility on $500 bail.
Gay is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division, on July 6 at 12:30 p.m.
He faces charges of domestic assault and offense in the presence of a child.
