Two cited after dispute in Newfane

NEWFANE, VT — Two Newfane residents were cited following a dispute on Blueberry Circle on July 2, 2026.

Vermont State Police from the Westminster Barracks responded to the incident at approximately 7:27 a.m.

An investigation revealed that Scotti Clark, 35, of Newfane, recklessly endangered residents with a firearm.

Clark was prohibited from possessing a firearm, according to police.

Barry Matyas, 45, of Newfane, was found to be in violation of his active court-issued conditions of release.

Matyas was cited to appear in Windham County Criminal Division on July 2, 2026 at 1 p.m. for violation of court conditions.

Clark was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on July 6, 2026 for reckless endangerment and persons prohibited from possessing a firearm.
