STROUDSBURG, PA — A 49-year-old Pennsylvania man turned himself in to authorities on drug charges stemming from an incident at an abandoned residence earlier this year.

Randolph McCoy, of Pennsylvania, surrendered at Magisterial District Judge Johnson’s office at 11 a.m. on July 1.

McCoy was arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

The charges stem from a Jan. 5 incident when Stroud Area Regional Police responded to a suspicious call at an abandoned residence on Thomas Street at 11:55 a.m.

Officers observed a male outside the residence who discarded a translucent material before walking toward police.

The man was identified as McCoy.

Police recovered a small plastic baggie containing what appeared to be crack cocaine from where the item was discarded.

A search incident to arrest located a marijuana cigarette in McCoy’s shirt pocket.

Police also seized a single razor blade, a pack of rolling papers and a THC flower baggie.

McCoy was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility for processing.

The suspected cocaine and marijuana were sent to the Pennsylvania State Police Lab for testing, where they tested positive for cocaine and marijuana.

An arrest warrant was issued for McCoy on June 11 by Magisterial District Judge Gasper.
