BRISTOL, CT — Police arrested a Waterbury man Tuesday evening following a vehicle and foot pursuit that resulted in the recovery of a stolen firearm and narcotics.
Patrol officers and members of the Narcotics Division were conducting surveillance targeting narcotics sales when they attempted to stop a motor vehicle, according to the Bristol Police Department.
The vehicle fled but was located a short distance away.
The driver, identified as Markev Nordby of Waterbury, fled on foot, prompting a foot pursuit.
Officers apprehended Nordby and recovered a stolen firearm and 27 grams of crack and cocaine.
Nordby was charged with stealing a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession with intent to sell, interfering with an officer, negligent storage of a firearm, reckless driving, improper turn/signal, operating without a license, engaging police in a pursuit and violation of a protective order.
He was held on $250,000 bond.
Connecticut State Police Trooper Houle and K9 Onyx assisted in locating the drugs and firearm that were discarded during the foot pursuit.
