WATERBURY, CT — A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges after police seized a firearm and narcotics during a search warrant execution.
Officers from the Waterbury Police Department’s Gang Task Force, Vice and Intelligence Unit, and Auto Theft Task Force executed a search warrant at 39 Orange Street on June 23, 2026.
During the investigation, police seized a Ruger LC9S 9mm handgun and a 50-round drum magazine.
Josiah Hardy, 19, of Waterbury was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, illegal sale or transfer of pistols/revolvers, criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition and illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine.
Police said Hardy has a serious juvenile offense and is not allowed to possess any firearms or ammunition.
