Man arrested on drug, license charges in Rutland Town

RUTLAND TOWN, VT — A traffic stop on Vermont Route 3 led to drug and license charges for a Proctor man.

Ryan Johnson, 29, was stopped by Vermont State Police troopers on June 24 at 5:38 p.m. for a traffic violation.

During the stop, troopers observed indicators of drug activity.

Johnson gave troopers consent to search the vehicle.

Suspected heroin was found during the search.

Troopers also determined Johnson’s license was criminally suspended.

Johnson was arrested and transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court at a later date.

Johnson faces charges of possession of heroin and driving with a criminally suspended license.

The Rutland Town Police Department assisted at the scene.
