Head-on collision in Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A head-on collision between a motorcycle and an SUV left one person with life-threatening injuries Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:02 p.m. in the area of Andrews Street, just north of Long Bottom Road.

A 2026 Mercedes Benz GLE450 was traveling southbound on Andrews Street while a 2026 Suzuki GSX800F motorcycle was traveling northbound.

The two vehicles collided head-on as they were navigating a sharp turn.

The motorcycle operator suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to The Hospital of Central Connecticut New Britain Campus.

The Mercedes operator suffered minor injuries and remained on scene.

The Mercedes operator is cooperating with the investigation.
