Two arrested on drug charges in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — Members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested two people on drug charges on June 17, 2026.

Austin Freelove, 27, of Providence, was arrested at approximately noon and charged with possession with the intent to deliver one ounce to one kilogram of a Schedule II controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine, and controlled substance conspiracy.

Shannon Freelove, 43, of Cranston, was arrested at approximately noon and charged with possession with the intent to deliver one ounce to one kilogram of a Schedule II controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine, and controlled substance conspiracy.

Both arrests were the result of the execution of search warrants at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation.

Both were transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where they were processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace before being transported to the ACI.

On June 18, 2026, at approximately 4:45 a.m., members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Darien Valdera, 28, of Warwick.

Valdera was charged with possession with the intent to deliver one ounce to one kilogram of a Schedule II controlled substance – fentanyl, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – fentanyl, possession with the intent to deliver one ounce to one kilogram of a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine, possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation (two counts), possession of a firearm by certain persons prohibited (two counts), possession of a stolen firearm, and large capacity feeding devices prohibited (two counts).

The arrest was the result of the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation.

Valdera was transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing and to 3rd District Court for arraignment.
