POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — State police charged a Bronx man with multiple drug offenses after a traffic stop at about 5:07 p.m. June 10 on southbound Mill Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.
Police said members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit stopped a vehicle for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The vehicle was occupied by a 32-year-old driver from Brooklyn and front-seat passenger Tajh D. Ford, 30, of the Bronx.
During the investigation, State Police Narcotics K-9 Rock conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics, police said.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and Ford resulted in the seizure of about 63.8 grams of cocaine, 27.2 grams of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
The driver was released during the investigation, police said.
Ford was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, a Class B felony.
He also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony.
Ford was further charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
He also was charged with two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, Class A misdemeanors.
Ford was arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, police said.
