BOSTON, MA — Boston police are seeking the public’s help after an armed robbery at a children’s lemonade stand in South Boston on Wednesday.
Officers from District C-6 responded at about 4:44 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery in the area of West Ninth Street, police said.
When officers arrived, they spoke with two children who said they had been operating a lemonade stand at the location.
The children told police that two unknown suspects made several passes by the stand before approaching and asking whether Apple Pay would be accepted as payment.
Before the children could respond, the suspects grabbed a box containing U.S. currency, police said.
One suspect then displayed a black firearm in his waistband before both suspects fled the area, according to police.
District C-6 detectives are investigating the incident.
