BOSTON, MA — Boston police arrested a Roxbury man Thursday on warrants charging him with three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

Fausto Abreu, 60, of Roxbury, was taken into custody without incident at about 12:25 p.m. in the area of 100 Warren St. in Roxbury, according to the Boston Police Department.

Police said officers assigned to the department’s Fugitive Unit were aware at the time of the arrest that Abreu had active warrants on the charges.

Investigators said Abreu had been hired through a social media post to drive a child to and from school.

Police said that arrangement had been ongoing since September 2025.

During that period, investigators determined, the suspect indecently assaulted the child.

The Boston Police Department said it is reviewing the case to determine whether there may be additional victims.
