Two arrested on drug trafficking charges in Bernardston

BERNARDSTON, MA — Two Connecticut women were arrested on drug trafficking charges May 21 after a traffic stop on Route 5.

Officer Zukowski stopped a Toyota RAV4 after discovering its registration had been expired for more than five years.

The occupants told police they were traveling to the Strange Creek music festival in Greenfield.

Following an investigation assisted by Sergeant Chabot, both women were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine (100 to 200 grams), possession with intent to distribute Class B substances (MDMA), possession with intent to distribute Class B substances (LSD), possession with intent to distribute Class C substances (psilocybin mushrooms), and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

The driver also received a citation for operating an unregistered vehicle.

Bail was set at $10,000 each.

Both women were transported to the Franklin County House of Corrections.

The Greenfield Police Department assisted by providing a female officer to conduct searches.

Koch’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
