Man arrested after pursuit, attempted break-in in Keene

KEENE, NH — A man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening someone with a firearm, leading police on a chase and attempting to break into an apartment.

Keene Police responded to the Monadnock Marketplace plaza on Ash Brook Road at approximately 11:22 p.m. on May 19 for a report of a criminal threatening incident involving a firearm.

Officers located the suspect in a vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

The suspect failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit that ended on West Street in the parking lot of Mascoma Bank when the suspect’s vehicle became disabled after striking raised curbing.

The suspect then fled on foot.

While officers searched the area, a call came into Keene Police dispatch reporting that someone with a gun was trying to break into a residence at an apartment on Elm Street.

Upon arrival at Elm Street, officers confirmed the suspect was the same person involved in the Monadnock Marketplace incident and subsequent pursuit.

Officers arrested Robie Fish, 36, of Keene, and charged him with criminal threatening with a firearm, two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, burglary, possession of a controlled drug, disobeying an officer, conduct after an accident and resisting arrest or detention.

Fish was held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections pending arraignment in 8th Circuit Court-Keene on May 20 at 1 p.m.

Keene Police were assisted by the Cheshire County Sheriff K9 Unit, New Hampshire State Police, Swanzey Police and Chesterfield Police.
