WOONSOCKET, RI — State police arrested a woman on multiple outstanding warrants following a traffic stop.
Leandra Nunes, 35, of Woonsocket, was taken into custody at 1:28 p.m. on Carrington Avenue.
Nunes was wanted on three Providence Superior Court bench warrants, all originating from the Woonsocket Police Department.
The warrants included failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of domestic simple assault, failure to appear for pre-arraignment conference on a charge of domestic simple assault, and failure to appear for pre-arraignment conference on a charge of domestic criminal violation of no contact order.
Nunes was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing.
She was later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

JOHNSTON, RI — A Connecticut woman faces drunken driving charges following a motor vehicle accident.
Mackenzie Stevens, 25, of Wethersfield, Connecticut, was arrested at 1:52 a.m. on Route 6.
Stevens was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 6.
Stevens was transported to State Police Headquarters where she was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
She was released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.
