Man arrested on DUI charge in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, VT — A Rutland man was arrested on a DUI charge following a single-vehicle crash on May 17, 2026.

Troopers responded to the crash on Vermont Route 17 near the intersection of Sawyer Road at approximately 9:56 a.m.

Investigation revealed a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east when it left the eastbound lane and struck a berm before coming to an upright position of uncontrolled rest.

The operator was identified as Aiden Berry, 20, of Rutland.

While speaking with Berry, troopers detected indicators of impairment.

Berry was screened, placed under arrest, and transported to the New Haven Barracks for processing.

The vehicle sustained passenger-side contact damage.

Berry was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

At the conclusion of processing, Berry was released to a sober adult with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
