WALLKILL, NY — A 65-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her daughter in the chest.
The Town of Wallkill Police Department was contacted by the City of Port Jervis Police Department on Thursday at approximately 8:18 p.m. regarding a 42-year-old woman who was being treated at Bon Secours Community Hospital in the City of Port Jervis for a stab wound to the right side of her chest.
An investigation by members of the Town of Wallkill Police Department Patrol and Detective Bureaus determined that the victim was assaulted at 385 East Main Street in the Town of Wallkill.
Gaia E. Frising, 65, of Wallkill, the victim’s mother, was arrested for the assault.
Frising was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Frising was arraigned in the City of Middletown City Court before the Honorable Steven W. Brockett and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail, $10,000 secured bond, or $10,000 partially secured bond.
Frising is next scheduled to appear in the Town of Wallkill Justice Court on May 20 at 9 a.m.
