Multiple arrests made in Ulster

ULSTER, NY — Police in the Town of Ulster made nine arrests between late April and mid-May on charges ranging from grand larceny to outstanding bench warrants.

Jorge J. Martinez, 28, of Newburgh, was arrested on April 28 for three counts of Grand Larceny 4th.

Lowe’s Loss Prevention alleged that on three separate dates, Martinez selected merchandise totaling over $6,000 and passed all final points of sale without rendering payment for the merchandise.

Loss Prevention advised that the Town of Newburgh Police Department had Martinez in custody for similar criminal charges.

Upon completing their arrest, the Town of Newburgh Police Department transferred custody to the Town of Ulster Police Department.

Martinez was processed and released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

Christopher R. Schulz, 33, of Kingston, was arrested on May 4 for Petit Larceny.

Walmart Loss Prevention alleged that Schulz had selected $32.65 in merchandise and then passed all final points of sale without rendering payment.

Schulz was processed and released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

Elizabeth Celaya-Lopez, 48, of Red Hook, was arrested on May 7 for Petit Larceny.

Walmart Loss Prevention alleged that Celaya-Lopez failed to scan $60.87 worth of merchandise at the self-checkout register, then passed all final points of sale without rendering payment for said merchandise.

She was processed and released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

Nicholas A. Miller, 37, of Hudson, was arrested on May 8 for an active Bench Warrant for multiple charges stemming from a Failure to Comply in 2022.

Miller was located by the Hudson Police Department, who took him into custody and transferred him to the Town of Ulster Police Department.

He was processed and arraigned at Ulster County CAP Court, where he was released on his own recognizance and to appear in the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

Sylvia Lowers, 44, of Ellenville, was arrested on May 9 for an active Bench Warrant for Petit Larceny.

The New York State Police located Lowers and transported her to Ulster Police Headquarters.

Lowers was processed and turned over to the Ulster County Jail to await arraignment at Ulster County CAP Court.

Michael A. Douglas, 45, of Kingston, was arrested on May 10 for an active Bench Warrant for Petit Larceny.

Patrols responded to Morton Boulevard for a welfare check of a male stumbling in the roadway.

After identifying the male, it was discovered he had an active Bench Warrant from the Town of Ulster Police Department and was subsequently taken into custody.

Douglas was processed and arraigned at Ulster County CAP Court, where he was released on his own recognizance, to appear in the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

Casey L. Fellows, 41, of Fishkill, was arrested on May 12 for an active Bench Warrant for Petit Larceny.

Fellows was located by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, who took him into custody and transferred him to the Town of Ulster Police Department.

Fellows was processed and arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and released on his own recognizance, to reappear at a later date.

Anazette Cromwell, 23, of Kingston, was arrested on May 13 for an active Bench Warrant for Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.

While conducting warrant checks, patrols located Cromwell at the Kingston Motel.

Cromwell was taken into custody, processed, and turned over to the Ulster County Jail to await arraignment at Ulster County CAP Court.

Jesse L. Walker, 36, of Saugerties, was arrested on May 13 for an active Bench Warrant for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st and Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration.

Ulster County Sheriff’s Office located Walker and transported him to Ulster Police Headquarters.

Walker was processed and turned over to the Ulster County Jail to await arraignment at Ulster County CAP Court.
