WARSAW TOWNSHIP, PA — A wanted man fled from deputies on foot and evaded capture during an 8.5-hour search on May 12, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a tip about a wanted individual at a residence on Williams Road in Warsaw Township and formed a team to apprehend him.

When deputies challenged the subject at the scene, he immediately fled on foot into a heavily wooded area.

The Pennsylvania State Police and Punxsutawney Police Chief responded with tracking K-9s, and the state police aviation unit assisted in the search.

The Jefferson County Department of Emergency Services coordinated with Brookville Area School District and Brockway Area School District to notify them of the situation and ensure student safety.

Multiple searches were conducted at different locations using K-9 tracking dogs and the aviation unit before the search was called off.

The sheriff and state police determined the individual posed no imminent threat to the public and is not known to be armed or violent.

The man who fled is Timothy Ryan Irvine, 36, of New Bethlehem.

Irvine is described as a white male with dark brown hair, a mustache and goatee, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build.

He was shirtless and wearing blue jeans when he fled and is believed to have multiple lacerations on his face, chest, arms and hands from fleeing through thick brush.

Irvine has a bench warrant for failure to appear for court on charges of recklessly endangering another person and summary offenses, and a warrant issued by the Pennsylvania State Parole Board for absconding.

He is known to frequent the Falls Creek and Hazen areas and has been seen driving a white 2014 single-cab Chevrolet pickup.

Residents are urged to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 814-849-1617 if they spot Irvine and not to engage or attempt to apprehend him.

The sheriff’s office will file criminal charges against Irvine due to his actions during the incident.
