BATH, NY — A man was arrested after allegedly placing a GPS tracking device on a vehicle to monitor another person’s location.
Members of the Bath Police Department responded to an address on Buell Street at approximately 11:24 p.m. on May 12, 2026 for a report of someone tampering with a vehicle in the area.
Video cameras in the area captured a male reaching under a parked vehicle.
Officers identified and located David E. Comstock, 53, of Mustang, Oklahoma.
During the investigation, police determined that Comstock had allegedly placed a GPS tracking device on the vehicle in an effort to track another person’s location.
Comstock was charged with tampering in the third degree and stalking in the fourth degree, both class B misdemeanors.
He was transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was released at centralized arraignment.
An order of protection was issued for the victim.
