Man charged with strangulation in Ulster

ULSTER, NY — Members of the Ulster Police Department responded to a motel in the Town of Ulster for a report of a physical domestic incident at approximately 4:50 a.m. May 12, 2026.

Upon arrival, officers found a victim of an assault.

Investigation revealed that during a domestic dispute, David A. Brown, 36, of Kingston, choked the victim, rendering her unconscious while in the presence of her children.

Brown was charged with strangulation in the second degree, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment.

He was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail.
