WEST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

Officer Brett Reifsnyder responded to the crash on Route 222 northbound near mile marker 37.4 at 5:40 a.m. on May 10.

Upon arrival, he found a 2015 Hyundai Accent off the road, 40 feet into a ditch.

The driver, Kashon Lequin Hutchinson, 32, of Pennsylvania, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Officer Reifsnyder discovered that Hutchinson’s driver’s license was suspended.

Due to the presence of an alcoholic beverage, Officer Reifsnyder assessed Hutchinson for signs of impairment.

Based on his findings, Hutchinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

After being taken to the West Earl Police Department, Hutchinson refused to submit to any further chemical testing.

Hutchinson was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance (third offense), driving with suspended privileges due to a DUI, and disregarding traffic lanes.

He was arraigned by District Judge Frank Ember Jr. and held on $20,000 bail.

Hutchinson is currently being held at the Lancaster County Prison.
