NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A wanted fugitive was extradited from Louisiana and taken into custody Wednesday, according to the New Rochelle Police Department.
Samuel McVey, 47, of Briarcliff Manor, was arrested April 24 by officers of the Baton Rouge Police Department in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on a fully extraditable warrant for criminal contempt in the second degree.
McVey was transported back to New York through the collaborative efforts of the New Rochelle Police Department and the Westchester County Police Warrant/Fugitive Unit.
He was taken into custody without incident May 7.
McVey was charged with two counts of criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony; five counts of criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor; and five counts of aggravated harassment in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
He is awaiting arraignment.
