NEWFIELD, NY — New York State Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Van Kirk Road on May 7, 2026.
Troopers from the Ithaca barracks responded to the scene at approximately 10:28 p.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that Anthony J. Vandermark, 28, of Newfield, was operating a 2023 Ford Escape and traveling south on Van Kirk Road when he failed to observe a pedestrian in the roadway, striking the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Amber R. Rawn, 44, of Newfield.
Rawn was treated on scene by members of Bangs Ambulance then flown by LifeFlight to Upstate Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
