MORGANTOWN, PA — A 78-year-old man faces child pornography charges following an investigation that began in October.
Richard Boyd was arrested May 7 on charges of child pornography.
The Caernarvon Township Police Department received information Oct. 10, 2025, regarding a potential case of child sexual abuse material at a residence on Hartman Lane.
A witness reported finding disturbing images, including one of a young female child exposing herself, in a printer tray at the property.
The witness also found electronic devices and turned them over to police, suspecting that the former resident, Boyd, of Morgantown, may be involved in child sexual abuse material.
Police obtained a search warrant and had the devices examined by the Berks County District Attorney Forensic Services Unit.
On Nov. 6, 2025, a computer forensic examiner reported finding over 71,000 suspect child sexual abuse material images on one device.
Further analysis revealed a total of 76,765 flagged child sexual abuse material images on the devices.
The investigation is ongoing.
