Two arrested on drug, weapons charges in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — Violence Prevention Unit detectives conducted an investigation outside a business in the 1600 block of Brownsville Road in the early morning hours of May 8, 2026.

Following the investigation and execution of search warrants, detectives made two arrests and recovered seven firearms, quantities of cocaine, four bundles of heroin, two bricks of heroin, marijuana and more than $5,600 in U.S. currency.

Mello Williams, 24, of Pittsburgh, faces multiple charges including persons not to possess, carrying a firearm without a license, fleeing or eluding police and narcotics charges.

Matyus Stewart, 19, of Pittsburgh, is charged with carrying a firearm without a license and prohibited acts/possession.

The investigation is ongoing.
