BENTON BOROUGH, PA — A traffic stop turned into a foot chase May 7, 2026 when a driver fled from police after being pulled over for a fake registration plate.
Officer Miller was monitoring traffic in the area of Main and Market streets when he observed a vehicle with a fake registration plate attached.
Miller activated his emergency lights and sirens.
The vehicle increased speed, traveling on Market Street to Colley Street.
The driver fled from the vehicle on foot into a yard of a residence.
Miller located the male driver and took him into custody.
The driver was placed in Columbia County Prison pending arraignment on multiple charges.
