MORAVIA, NY — A 40-year-old man was arrested after allegedly resisting deputies who attempted to take him into custody on an outstanding warrant.
Brandin S. Brown, of Moravia, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. May 4, 2026, on Church Street and charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and resisting arrest, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.
Deputies were on the scene of a reported burglary at approximately 7:35 p.m. when they discovered Brown had an active warrant out of Cortland County.
Deputies advised Brown he was under arrest for the warrant, but he refused to cooperate and resisted being placed into custody, according to the sheriff’s office.
Brown was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building in Cayuga County for processing.
He was then transported to the county line and turned over to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office to execute their warrant.
Brown is scheduled to appear in Moravia Village Court on May 18, 2026, at 6 p.m.
